Wayward Fowl Inc. (“Wayward Fowl,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates an independent platform for reporting, documenting, organizing, and analyzing incidents and concerns involving artificial intelligence systems.
Our goal is to maintain a useful and responsible public record of reported AI-related incidents while recognizing that reports may involve incomplete information, disputed facts, differing perspectives, or information that changes over time.
This Corrections and Dispute Policy describes how individuals, companies, organizations, AI developers, and other affected parties may request review of information appearing on Wayward Fowl.
1Our Approach
Wayward Fowl may use status labels to help users understand what information has been submitted, reviewed, supported, challenged, or subsequently updated.
A status label describes Wayward Fowl's handling of the information. Unless expressly stated otherwise, a status label does not constitute a finding of legal liability, wrongdoing, causation, discrimination, negligence, or intent.
Wayward Fowl may use labels including:
SUBMITTED
An incident report has been received from a reporter. Wayward Fowl has not necessarily independently reviewed or corroborated the material factual assertions in the report.
EVIDENCE PROVIDED
The reporter has supplied documentation or other material represented as supporting one or more aspects of the report. This label does not mean that Wayward Fowl has authenticated every item or determined that the evidence establishes the allegations.
REVIEWED
Wayward Fowl has reviewed the report for matters such as completeness, relevance, categorization, compliance with Platform policies, and available supporting information.
“Reviewed” does not mean that Wayward Fowl has determined that the allegations are true.
CORROBORATED
Wayward Fowl has identified independent information that supports one or more specifically identified material factual aspects of the report. A Corroborated designation applies only to the particular facts identified and does not necessarily establish the reporter's conclusions regarding causation, intent, discrimination, wrongdoing, or legal responsibility.
DISPUTED
An individual or organization identified in the report has disputed one or more material aspects of the report. A Disputed designation does not mean Wayward Fowl has determined that either the reporter or disputing party is correct.
CORRECTED
Material information previously appearing in the report has been corrected. Where appropriate, Wayward Fowl may maintain a correction history identifying the nature of the change.
UPDATED
Material information concerning the incident became available after the initial report and has been added to the incident record.
RESOLVED
The underlying incident has subsequently been resolved, remediated, reversed, settled, or otherwise addressed in a manner documented by Wayward Fowl. A Resolved designation does not necessarily mean that the original report was true or false or that any party admitted liability.
Wayward Fowl may introduce additional status labels as the Platform develops and may explain the criteria applicable to those labels.
2Who May Submit A Request
You may submit a correction or dispute request if you:
- submitted the original report;
- are identified in a report;
- represent a company or organization identified in a report;
- own or operate an AI system identified in a report;
- are otherwise directly affected by information appearing in a report; or
- have reliable information demonstrating a material factual error.
Representatives submitting requests on behalf of an organization may be asked to verify their authority to represent that organization.
3Correction Requests
A Correction Request concerns information that you believe is factually incorrect and reasonably capable of objective verification.
Examples may include:
- an incorrect date;
- an incorrect company name;
- identification of the wrong AI system;
- an incorrect location;
- an incorrect job title;
- a mistaken attribution;
- an incorrect quotation;
- a materially inaccurate description of a document;
- a factual statement contradicted by reliable documentation; or
- another objectively verifiable factual error.
Where appropriate, Wayward Fowl may correct such information without removing the underlying incident report.
4Dispute Requests
A Dispute Request concerns a material allegation, interpretation, conclusion, or account that you contest.
Examples may include disputes regarding:
- whether an incident occurred as described;
- whether an AI system was involved;
- whether an automated system caused or contributed to an outcome;
- whether discrimination occurred;
- whether an outcome was unfair;
- whether a company or individual was responsible;
- whether relevant context was omitted;
- whether a reporter’s interpretation is supported by the available evidence; or
- whether information presented as fact should instead be characterized as an
allegation, opinion, or disputed assertion.
Wayward Fowl does not act as a court and is not required to determine which party would ultimately prevail in a legal dispute.
5How To Submit A Request
Correction and dispute requests should be submitted through:
info@waywardfowl.com Please include:
1. your name;
2. your contact information;
3. the company or organization you represent, if applicable;
4. the URL or report number for the material you are challenging;
5. the specific statement or information you believe should be reviewed;
6. whether you are requesting a correction, submitting a dispute, or both;
7. an explanation of why you believe the information is inaccurate, misleading,
incomplete, or otherwise requires review;
8. the correction you believe should be made, where applicable; and
9. supporting documentation or other evidence, where reasonably available.
Please identify specific disputed statements rather than requesting generally that an entire report be removed.
6Supporting Information
Supporting information may include:
- correspondence;
- contracts;
- policies;
- screenshots;
- system records;
- application records;
- decision notices;
- transaction records;
- audit records;
- technical documentation;
- court records;
- government records;
- contemporaneous communications; or
- other reliable evidence relevant to the dispute.
Do not unnecessarily submit Social Security numbers, financial account information, passwords, detailed medical records, information concerning minors, or other highly sensitive information.
Please redact information that is not necessary to evaluate the request.
7Identity And Authority Verification
Wayward Fowl may take reasonable steps to verify:
- your identity;
- your relationship to the disputed report;
- your authority to represent an organization; or
- the authenticity of supporting information.
Verification may be required before Wayward Fowl publishes a response as an official response from a company or organization.
8Initial Review
Wayward Fowl may conduct an initial review to determine whether a request:
- identifies specific disputed information;
- provides enough information to permit meaningful review;
- concerns material information;
- appears to have been submitted in good faith; and
- falls within this Policy.
Wayward Fowl may request additional information before completing its review.
9Possible Actions
Following review, Wayward Fowl may take one or more actions, including:
No Change
Wayward Fowl may leave the report unchanged.
Correction
Wayward Fowl may correct objectively inaccurate information.
Clarification
Wayward Fowl may revise wording to more accurately distinguish between established facts, allegations, opinions, interpretations, and disputed conclusions.
Annotation
Wayward Fowl may add a note explaining that particular information has been disputed or corrected.
Publication of a Response
Wayward Fowl may publish a response from an individual or organization identified in the report.
Additional Context
Wayward Fowl may add relevant contextual information.
Status Change
Wayward Fowl may change the status or classification of a report.
Redaction
Wayward Fowl may remove personal, confidential, sensitive, irrelevant, or otherwise inappropriate information.
Temporary Restriction
Wayward Fowl may temporarily restrict access to some or all of a report while reviewing a significant dispute.
Removal
Wayward Fowl may remove some or all of a report where it determines removal is appropriate.
Referral for Additional Review
Wayward Fowl may refer particularly complex matters for additional internal or external review.
10Disputed Report Label
Where a material dispute cannot readily be resolved, Wayward Fowl may retain the original report while displaying a notice such as:
Disputed Report
An individual or organization identified in this report disputes one or more material aspects of the report. Wayward Fowl has not independently determined the disputed allegations to be true or false. View the response and additional information below.
The precise wording and placement of such notices may vary.
11Right Of Response
Where appropriate, Wayward Fowl may permit an affected organization or individual to provide a response for publication.
A response should address the substance of the report and should not contain:
- unlawful threats;
- harassment;
- unnecessary personal information;
- knowingly false information;
- unrelated promotional content; or
- other content prohibited by Wayward Fowl’s policies.
Wayward Fowl may edit a response for formatting, length, privacy, or compliance with Platform policies while seeking to preserve its substantive meaning.
Wayward Fowl may also permit a responding party to provide a link to a more detailed public statement where appropriate.
12Contacting The Original Reporter
Wayward Fowl may contact the original reporter regarding a correction or dispute.
Wayward Fowl may:
- ask the reporter to respond;
- request additional evidence;
- request clarification;
- ask the reporter to correct information;
- inform the reporter that a response has been submitted; or
- request permission to disclose additional information.
Wayward Fowl is not obligated to disclose a reporter’s nonpublic identity to a disputing party.
Information concerning reporter identity will be handled in accordance with Wayward Fowl’s Privacy Policy and applicable law.
13Evidentiary Disputes
Wayward Fowl may receive conflicting evidence from different parties.
Wayward Fowl is not a court and does not have compulsory discovery powers.
Accordingly, Wayward Fowl may determine that available information is insufficient to resolve a factual dispute.
In such circumstances, Wayward Fowl may present the competing accounts rather than determine that one account is definitively true.
14Reports Involving Legal Proceedings
If Wayward Fowl learns that an incident is the subject of litigation, arbitration, regulatory proceedings, government investigation, or another formal proceeding, Wayward Fowl may add relevant publicly available information to the report.
The existence of a lawsuit, complaint, investigation, or other proceeding does not establish that the underlying allegations are true.
Likewise, dismissal or closure of a proceeding does not necessarily establish that all underlying factual allegations were false.
Where appropriate, Wayward Fowl may update a report to reflect significant subsequent developments.
15Material New Information
Wayward Fowl encourages users and affected parties to provide material new information after a report has been published.
Examples include:
- a company reversing an automated decision;
- discovery that a human rather than an AI system made a decision;
- an investigation identifying the relevant system;
- a regulator issuing findings;
- litigation resolving disputed facts;
- a company acknowledging an error;
- an AI provider correcting a system;
- compensation or remediation being provided; or
- credible evidence contradicting a material aspect of the original report.
Wayward Fowl may update the report to reflect such developments.
16Correction History
Where a material correction is made after publication, Wayward Fowl may preserve a correction history.
For example:
CORRECTION — [DATE]:
An earlier version of this report incorrectly identified [X]. The report has been updated to reflect [Y].
Minor spelling, formatting, grammatical, or non-substantive changes may be made without a correction notice.
17Removal
Wayward Fowl may consider removal where, among other circumstances:
- a report is demonstrated to be materially fabricated;
- the wrong individual or organization was identified;
- publication violates applicable law;
- a report contains information that creates a serious and unjustified privacy or safety
risk;
- the reporter requests removal and Wayward Fowl determines removal is
appropriate;
- the report violates Wayward Fowl’s Terms of Use or other policies; or
- other circumstances make continued publication inappropriate.
A request for removal does not guarantee removal.
The fact that an individual or organization disagrees with a report, denies an allegation, threatens litigation, or prefers that information not be publicly available does not by itself require Wayward Fowl to remove the report.
18Legal Demands
Legal demands, subpoenas, court orders, preservation notices, or other formal legal communications should be directed to:
info@waywardfowl.com A correction or dispute request is not a substitute for formal legal process where formal legal process is required.
19Good-Faith Participation
Wayward Fowl expects participants in the corrections and dispute process to act in good faith.
You may not knowingly submit:
- fabricated evidence;
- materially altered evidence presented deceptively;
- false claims of identity or authority;
- knowingly false statements; or
- threats intended to improperly manipulate Wayward Fowl’s editorial decisions.
Abuse of the dispute process may result in restriction of Platform access or other appropriate action.
20No Retaliation Through The Platform
Wayward Fowl does not permit its dispute process to be used to harass, intimidate, threaten, or retaliate against reporters.
A company or individual may dispute a report vigorously and provide evidence supporting its position.
However, Wayward Fowl may restrict communications that constitute harassment, threats, doxxing, or other prohibited conduct.
21Timing
Wayward Fowl will endeavor to review correction and dispute requests within a reasonable period.
The time required may depend on:
- complexity;
- seriousness of the allegations;
- amount of supporting information;
- need to contact the original reporter;
- need for additional documentation;
- privacy or safety concerns; and
- legal considerations.
Wayward Fowl does not guarantee resolution within a particular number of days unless expressly stated otherwise.
22Reconsideration
If you believe Wayward Fowl materially misunderstood your correction or dispute request, you may request reconsideration by providing material information that was not previously considered or identifying a material error in the review.
Repeated requests presenting substantially the same information may be closed without additional review.
23Editorial Independence
Wayward Fowl’s decisions concerning publication, correction, annotation, response, classification, and removal are made independently in accordance with applicable law and Platform policies.
Payment, advertising relationships, commercial relationships, threats to discontinue business, or other improper considerations should not determine the outcome of a correction or dispute.
24No Determination Of Legal Liability
Wayward Fowl’s handling of a correction or dispute does not constitute a legal determination regarding:
- whether discrimination occurred;
- whether a law was violated;
- whether an AI system caused harm;
- whether a company was negligent;
- whether a product was defective;
- whether a statement is legally defamatory;
- whether damages are owed; or
- whether any party is legally responsible.
Wayward Fowl is an information platform, not a court or regulator.
25Changes To This Policy
Wayward Fowl may modify this Policy from time to time.
The “Last Updated” date above identifies the most recent revision.
Material changes may be communicated through the Platform where appropriate.
