Robot Mitra malfunctions at India entrepreneuship summit
The appearance of a robot to help inaugurate India's Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 failed to go to plan when it malfunctioned on stage. D eveloped by Invento Robotics, the five-foot-tall humanoid robot was supposed to greet the dignitaries individually. However, when India prime minister Narendra Modi and Ivanka Trump pressed their buttons simultaneously, Mitra only welcomed Modi and mumbled Trump's name before appearing to stall. The two VIPs tried again a few minutes later by pressing the button separately, successfully activating the device. The incident highlighted the challenges of integrating advanced technologies like robotics into high-profile events and the importance of precise coordination in such demonstrations.
