Turnitin AI writing detector

Turnitin's AI writing detection tool aims to help educators identify content potentially generated by AI writing tools such as ChatGPT . The tool analyses submitted text to detect patterns and characteristics typical of AI-generated content, and the breaks content into smaller chunks or sentences, which are then overlapped to capture their context. Each portion of text is given a score between 0 and 1 to determine if it was likely written by a human (0) or AI (1), with AI-generated text only flagged if it is 98 percent certain. The tool provides an overall percentage of the document that may be AI-generated, and highlights specific portions of text likely to be AI-written, including potentially AI-paraphrased content. Artificial intelligence content detection Artificial intelligence detection software aims to determine whether some content (text, image, video or audio) was generated using artificial intelligence (AI).
