Grok posts incorrect information about Trump assassination attempt

Elon Musk's Grok AI chatbot provided inaccurate and misleading information i n the aftermath of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Grok is intended to deliver news and engage users with a humorous, rebellious and "anti-woke" personality. However, the chatbot has faced significant challenges in fulfilling this role effectively, incorrectly reporting that Vice President Kamala Harris and an actor were shot instead of Donald Trump and misidentifying the real shooter 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks as an antifa member. Critics believe the errors stemmed from Grok’s inability to discern sarcasm, understand context and verify unverified claims on X , rais ing concerns about Grok's reliability as a reliable news source .
