YouTube crime page discovered to be entirely AI-generated

A YouTube channel apparently featuring hundreds of real crime stories was actually entirely generated by AI, raising ethical concerns and wasting advertiser dollars. True Crime Case Files 🔗 racked up millions of views with its video deep dives into “unsolved mysteries, heinous crimes, and chilling investigations”. But it turns out that each of True Crime Case Files’ videos is AI-generated, including the images of victims, perpetrators, and locations, the scripts and narration. The YouTube channel has 83,000 subscribers and its most popular video - titled "Husband’s Secret Gay Love Affair with Step Son Ends in Grisly Murder (True Crime Documentary)" - has 1.8 million views, including a Denver Post reader who asked why the organ had not covered the case. It is unclear who set up and manages True Crime Case Files but its YouTube channel runs third-party adverts, so it is sucking up advertiser dollars and may damage their brands.
