Google's AI Overviews is a feature within Google Search that uses generative AI to provide users with summaries and insights based on their queries. AI Overviews appears prominently at the top of search results, effectively replacing traditional search snippets. The system draws on Google Gemini large language model and replac ed Google's SGE feature . Launched in the United States in May 2024, the feature was expanded to over 100 countries in October 2024.
