Water Supply Disrupted, Sambau Residents Storm Nongsa Digital Park Entrance

Residents of Sambau in Nongsa, Batam, staged a protest at the entrance of Nongsa Digital Park on Monday (5/10/2026) over disrupted clean water distribution to their homes. The protesters, mostly housewives, demanded normal water supply and questioned whether data center operations in the area affected residential water supply, though no direct link was confirmed. Water operator ABHi said it was preparing additional supply from IPAM Duriangkang and had installed a Sambau interconnection line to improve distribution.
