Residents from Teluk Mata Ikan and Kavling Sambau protested outside the entrance to Nongsa Digital Park in Batam on October 14, demanding the restoration of their water supply, which they said had been cut off for seven days. They suspected the water crisis was linked to construction of a data center in the industrial area and warned they would stage a larger protest if the problem was not resolved.
