Reddit moderators face ChatGPT spam attacks on forums
Reddit moderators, particularly on r/AskHistorians, have been dealing with an influx of ChatGPT-generated spam posts since late 2022. In February 2023, a coordinated bot attack using ChatGPT posted hundreds of spam answers across multiple subreddits, forcing moderators to ban up to 75 accounts per day. Reddit is reportedly developing AI-detection tools, but moderators remain concerned about the growing problem of inauthentic content.
