26 lawmakers targeted by AI-generated deepfake pornography
More than two dozen lawmakers, predominantly women, were victims of AI-generated deepfake pornography, according to a report from the American Sunlight Project. The report found over 35,000 mentions of 26 lawmakers on prominent deepfake websites. After notification, content depicting 14 lawmakers was removed within 48 hours, and for nine others it was mostly removed. The report calls for legislative action to criminalize non-consensual sexually explicit deepfakes.
