DPRK IT workers use AI services to commit fraudulent employment scams
North Korean nationals, with the help of facilitators, are using generative AI services to create fake personas and apply for remote technical jobs at companies worldwide. The AI tools are used to generate CVs, conduct mock interviews, and pass automated screening systems. Once employed, the workers earn revenue for the DPRK state. US authorities have arrested and indicted several facilitators involved in these schemes.
