Models' likenesses used in AI propaganda videos without consent
Several models in London discovered that their likenesses had been used without their knowledge in AI-generated propaganda videos supporting the dictator of Burkina Faso. The videos were created using Synthesia's AI avatar platform, which the models had previously posed for. The models reported psychological distress and reputational harm, and Synthesia acknowledged the misuse and banned the accounts but the videos remain online.
