A civil court in Goiânia, Brazil, ordered Telegram to pay R$10,000 in moral damages over fake intimate images made with AI from photographs of a woman and her sisters, in a ruling signed October 6, 2026. It also ordered the material removed, measures to stop new posts, and data to identify the users involved. The judge attributed the images to third parties and held Telegram responsible for failing to act after it was notified. The images circulated in a Telegram group of more than 120 participants.
