OpenAI reported to the FBI a 25-year-old Florida man's ChatGPT conversations in which, according to court records cited by the Palm Beach Post, he repeatedly threatened to rape and kill his ex-girlfriend and said he had bought guns. He was arrested in May 2026 and in August a Palm Beach County judge sentenced him to eight years of probation.
