A Texas biotechnology teacher sued IDEA Public Schools in the Southern District of Texas on 26 August 2026, alleging he was pushed out through a false disciplinary case after reporting a suspected illegal drug he found during student drop-off duty. He handed the item to a facilities manager, who later told him police had confirmed it was an illegal drug. When he warned colleagues over a campus Microsoft Teams chat, a principal replied that the matter was closed and deleted his message. He was subsequently accused of using "deepfake AI". The 51-year-old is representing himself and alleges unequal treatment and retaliation for raising safety concerns.
