Facebook suspends Netanyahu-linked chatbot for asking for personal data
Facebook suspended a chatbot linked to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after it asked users for names and phone numbers of unvaccinated relatives, violating Facebook's privacy policy. The chatbot sent automatic messages to visitors who clicked a link about the coronavirus. Facebook removed the post and temporarily suspended the bot. Netanyahu's Likud party defended the action as an effort to encourage vaccination.
