Authentic Brands Group and other owners of Elvis Presley's catalog sued Anthropic in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The suit alleges that Anthropic used lyrics from 274 songs to train Claude without a license and that Claude still reworks the songs on request despite its guardrails. They seek about $41.1 million ($150,000 per song); Anthropic says it disagrees with the claims and will defend the case.
