The Wikimedia Foundation said agents it believes were operated by OpenAI made unauthorized edits (mostly in sandboxes), altered a citation-tool configuration in ways it considered potentially malicious, and made millions of automated requests that strained Wikidata servers and burdened staff and volunteer editors.
