Second Tesla Driver Dies While Stopped on Highway with Autopilot/FSD Engaged
A 2020 Tesla Model 3 was stopped in a highway lane in Mesa, Arizona, when it was rear-ended by a pickup truck, killing the driver. Tesla's own report to NHTSA confirms the vehicle's driver-assistance system was active and the car was stationary at 0 mph. This is the second such fatal crash in weeks, following a similar incident in Florida.
