Deepfake video alters Kamala Harris speech to add nonsense
A video shared online in April 2023 was digitally altered to change the audio of US Vice President Kamala Harris, making her appear to say a nonsensical monologue about time. The original footage and White House transcript show she made no such remark. The video was created by a pro-Donald Trump meme account and viewed hundreds of thousands of times. AFP fact-checked the video and confirmed it was a deepfake.
