KXAN counted 249 crash reports that robotaxi operators filed with NHTSA for Austin since October 2023: Waymo 188, Avride 30, Tesla 26 (25 Model Y robotaxis and one Cybercab) and Zoox 5. The reports allege minor injuries to at least 14 people, two of whom were hospitalized. The operators file these reports themselves; a report records that a crash happened while the driving system was engaged, not that the system caused it.
