AI-generated images and songs used to incite far-right violence after Southport stabbings
After the Southport stabbing attack on 29 July 2024, far-right activists used AI tools to generate inflammatory images and songs, which were shared on social media platforms to incite violence and spread misinformation. The AI-generated content included an image of bearded men in Muslim dress outside Parliament and xenophobic songs created with Suno. Bot networks on TikTok also promoted protest calls. The resulting violence led to riots and disorder across the UK, with experts warning of a resurgence in far-right mobilisation.
