North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson reached a settlement with Cortland Management, one of the landlords he sued in January 2025, alleging they worked with other landlords and used RealPage's AI software to raise rents. Once the court enters it, Cortland, which has more than 5,000 units in the state, will stop using non-public data from other landlords to set rents and will not use third-party pricing software except under a court-appointed monitor. Colorado's attorney general is also party to the settlement. Cortland denies wrongdoing.
