Gansu police detain man over ChatGPT-generated fake train crash news
Police in Gansu province, China, have detained a man, named Hong, for allegedly using ChatGPT to generate a fake news article claiming nine people were killed in a train accident. The article was posted on more than 20 accounts on Baidu's Baijiahao platform and received over 15,000 clicks. A police statement said the suspect had used artificial intelligence technology to concoct false information. This is reportedly the first known detention related to the use of the AI bot in China.
