Plaintiffs Irene Simmons and Rodell Sanders sued Motorola Solutions and Vigilant Solutions in Cook County, alleging their FaceSearch facial recognition technology collected, stored and used Illinois residents' biometric data, including police booking photos, without the disclosure and consent the Biometric Information Privacy Act requires. A settlement received final approval on 15 September 2025.
