Penguin Random House's German publisher of the Coconut the Little Dragon books has sued OpenAI, alleging ChatGPT reproduces copyrighted material from author and illustrator Ingo Siegner's books and generates look-alike illustrations. Illustrator Axel Scheffler, creator of the Gruffalo, told Die Zeit he is considering legal action after ChatGPT generated images clearly resembling his character. These are allegations. OpenAI said it is reviewing the allegations and respects the rights of authors and rights holders.
