The complaint alleges that, as part of the Oral B smartphone app's toothbrushing-tracking technology, Procter & Gamble captures, collects, stores, uses and disseminates users' facial geometry and biometric data in violation of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act. The putative class action was filed in Illinois state court and removed by P&G to federal court. In May 2022 the court denied P&G's motion to transfer the case to Ohio; that order did not decide the merits.
