AI-generated impostor band impersonates King Gizzard on Spotify
An impostor created a Spotify band named 'King Lizard Wizard' and used AI to generate songs mimicking King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, accumulating tens of thousands of streams. Spotify removed the content and stated that it prohibits impersonation, but the band's frontman criticized the platform's reactive approach. The incident underscores ongoing problems with AI impersonation on streaming services.
