Fayette County, Georgia, found that QTS's data center campus used water through connections that went unbilled during the county's switch to smart meters; the county says the usage was missed, not taken unlawfully, and QTS paid about $147,000 in back charges. Nearby residents had reported low water pressure, and QTS says the water went to construction.
