Vermont Attorney General Charity Clark refiled a lawsuit in April 2025 alleging Clearview AI violated the Vermont Consumer Protection Act by collecting Vermonters' photos from the internet, including children's, storing their facial biometric identifiers without knowledge or consent, and selling access to law enforcement. An earlier suit was dismissed on venue grounds; the allegations have not been proven.
