On October 6, 2022, in Florida, a 43-year-old man died after his Tesla Model 3 stopped in an active lane and was rear-ended by a truck. On October 31, 2025, in Arizona, another Tesla driver was killed after the vehicle suddenly stopped. Tesla's reports to NHTSA confirmed that Autopilot was active in both incidents.
