During late-October king tide flooding in San Diego, video showed Waymo robotaxis stopping and reversing at flooded streets, at least one with a passenger inside. SanDiegoVille reports that police intervened and an officer drove the vehicle through the water. Officials had warned motorists against driving through standing water, so stopping may have been the safer choice; the concern is the car being stranded.
