Activision Blizzard uses generative AI, lays off artists

Activision Blizzard, the video game publisher behind Call of Duty, used generative AI tools like Midjourney and Stable Diffusion for concept art and marketing. In late January 2024, Microsoft laid off 1,900 Activision Blizzard and Xbox employees, including many 2D artists.
